Today was fall yard clean up. You have to have to have your yard mowed and edged perfectly or they come and give you a pink slip. I have already gotten one, another one is not a good thing! My mower is dead (thanks to my awesome neighbor) so I got out the weed whacker and chopped down all the long grass/weeds that were growing in the front. Most of the yard was okay..and then I edged along the sidewalk. I actually really like using the weed whacker! Then I moved onto the back yard.dun dun dun. I haven't mowed back there in over 2 months. It was a jungle! Using the weed whacker to mow that was crazy. I did about a fourth of the yard when I heard my neighbor (the awesome one) yelling what the heck are you doing! He came over and mowed the rest (after he tried to start my dead mower and broke the pull start string, I told you he was awesome)
About this time my friend texted and wanted to go to lunch so I put Jack down for a nap and got ready. We went to FireHouse Subs. YUM! I love my friends here, we have so much fun and they make this deployment bearable!
After that Jack and I went to walmart..bleh! I broke my very long streak of not shopping at walmart! But I thought they would have vinyl for my cricut. Nope! I needed the vinyl to cut out halloween stickers to make some gifts for Ella and Lilys teachers.
Note to self : never tell Ella you are planning on making something if you don't REALLY want to do it. She won't forget and won't let you forget!
So I found some cute rhinestone stickers in the scrapbook section and found some soaps that the stickers would fit on.
I really wanted to buy a pumpkin roll and almost cried when the lady said they didn't have any :( I also picked out some gold glitter nail polish for fall..well hoping that it would bring fall..or at least weather in the 70's! This 80's and 90's weather is getting old!
The girls saw our neighbors carving pumpkins awhile ago and really wanted to do that. I'm not a big pumpkin carving person, so I bought them each a cute little pumpkin today and let them paint it. Much better :)
Lily poked Jack in the eye with a pencil today, because "he was too close" So don't get too close to Lily or she will poke your eye out ;) I was really kind of freaked out at first. He doesn't usually cry a lot and he was really mad! (he had skipped a nap so I should have realized he was just tired) I called my Mom to see if she thought I should take him to the Dr. or ER or somewhere. I had to wait until I got Ella from the bus anyway, so I just waited awhile. He calmed down and there is a nice red dot on the white part of his eye and his eye lid is a little swollen. If it looks bad tomorrow i'll call the Dr. but i'm not really sure what they would do for him...
And here is all of that in pictures :)
Jack didn't want anything to do with pumpkins. He was too busy driving his trucks!
These are so simple and cheap!
I think I will be making them for Christmas teacher gifts too
(you can buy the clear soap and use a few drops of few coloring to make it whatever color you want)
Today was picture day for Ella, she looked really cute!

Wow, I am so super impressed with you. First of all, if I had the kids with no help, they might watch movies all day long, haha, not do super fun crafts like painting pumpkins. Also, you weedwhacked? I tried that before--the weeds and grass fly everywhere, fast!
